Week #2, the weekly poem

 Winter Sun By: Caitlin Bay
In the morning when
The fog floats away,
I see you;
It's a brighter day
The Winter Sun:
My closest friend;
The morning dew:
A friend of his.

Week #1, the weekly poem

Woods By: Rachel Field
Whenever the woods I walk among
Are very green and young,
With leaves a-twinkle on every tree,
The heart begins to dance in me,
And my feet to caper from tree to tree
Over the sunny patch of greenery.

But when the woods I walk among
Are very old, with mosses hung
In thin festoons of tattered gray,
And the greens seems high and far away,
Oh, then I tiptoe from tree to tree,
For a hush is on the heart of me.

The Revised Daily Poem

   I have decided to make the Daily Poem the Weekly Poem, because its hard to get on my blog every day. In the mornings I have to get ready for school, and in the evenings I want to relax, and also have to do homework. Sometimes we have plans for the evenings, I hope you all understand. Every Saturday or Sunday I will post a poem, and each poem will be a different post.

My Most Favorite Hobby

    Hey, did anybody know I love to sing? Its my most favorite hobby! I don't know exactly when I started my love to sing, but it must have been somewhere in third grade, I am now in fourth. I always sing, in the shower, at recess, at home in the morning. I think I can even pester my mom a bit!
   When my school was still raising money for the P.S.10 Carnival (my school is P.S.10), me and my friend Jasmin started this thing called Song O' Gram. You could purchase a song for one dollar, and we would sing it to somebody. We could do it for tables, people, classes, groups, we could do anything! All the money went to the Carnival. Sadly, we weren't very committed, we wanted to do other things with our lunch period, like talk, eat, and play hand games.
   I wish that everyone could sing, and have as much fun as I did doing so. I hope to continue my "singing career", and maybe become a popular singer one day. I wish I could have been more committed in Song O' Gram, and raised more then six dollars!

My Cats, From The Beginning To The End

     This blogpost will show thoughts from the start to the end of my cats history, my first cat, to my last cat, how they died, or ended up. This is the everything you need to know guide of my cats, the beginning, to the end.

Sarah, the naughty (the cats point of view vs. humans point of view)
Cats point of view
       All I can think about is mama, holding me against her warm, pudgy stomach, her soft fur rubbing against my bald cheek, and her purring vibrations. I wish I could look up into her he eyes, and see her snow white chin fur, dusted with grime, and her tongue, approaching my thin coat of fur.
     Gone.
     Mama is gone for good, killed by the ally bull dog. Now all I see is the same face, over, and over again, looking at me with puppy dog eyes, petting me with bald paws, and claws scratch under my ears, short ones, but it hurts.
     Too rough, too mean, too cold. Too much fear.
     The next thing I know, i'm in the back of a metal thing, moving swiftly, much too fast, or is it too much fear? Too much sad? All I want to do is get back in the ally, were I can see all different faces, moods, and where I know is home. Just for me, home. The next thing I know i'm lunging to the face in the front of me, they catch me. Let them have their fun, while I miss home. Just let them know this: They will never replace mama, never find a better, and safer place then my ally. I want to think happy thoughts; but I can't. All I can do now is whimper, cry, and hope i'll be able to run away to mama's spirit. Where it's soft, and warm, and safe.

Sarah the naughty, humans point of view
     "Awwwww, poor little thing, all scared and cold in that muddy old ally," I say, mooning over the cat, I don't even care if it enjoyed living in that ally (which it obviously didn't), this little one goes to Heather, and cute little Caitlin. "Oooooh, kitty, my, my are you soft, pretty little thing. Hmmm, let's see what will i call you?" I say to the cat, silly me, It can't hear, i'm merely talking to my self! Just look at it, all soft and warm. Funny thing, it's a bit chubby, "have been eating all of the ally mice? I bet you're the super hero of the block."
     What should I call him? Wait-her-or him? Anyway, we'll see at the clinic! Nancy, Bon-Bon, Snow, Nicholas, what should I call you? Look at those sweet eyes, and adorable smile, you just must be a girl. That's it! You're now Sarah, after that wonderful friend of Heather's Grandma. That's what i'll call you: Sarah.

January By: John Updike
The days are short,
    The sun a spark
Hung thin between
    The dark and dark

Fat snowy foot steps
    Track the floor.
Milk bottles burst
Outside the door.

    The river is
    A frozen place
Held still beneath
The trees of lace.

Early Morning By: Hilare Belloc
The moon on the one hand,
The dawn on the other:
The moon is my sister,
The dawn is my brother,
The moon on my left and
The dawn on my right-
My brother good morning;
my sister good night.

Science By: Caitlin Bay
I know you this year
  I knew you last year
But never the year before.
  I was living without:
Metric units,
  Measuring tricks,
Silly songs of water;
  Who taught me what was what ,
And the many things that count.
  I will never know without you why:
water runs,
  And birds sing;
High in the sky above.
  Oh science teach me,
What is what,
  So that I may pass it on.
***This poem is in honer of the 1/2 lunar eclipse tonight, and the transit of Venus tomorrow, that only occurs twice every 120 years! :) I'm honored to be able to experience it!!! :) :) :) :)
